Case Study

Travis Perkins Stratford

The Challenge

Our regular client is the UK’s largest builders’ merchants, and at a recent installation for racking, we encountered timing problems on site. The construction company that was in charge of the site was running over their work program and schedule, due to being unaware that the printing machines left on site from the previous tenant were set into a concrete slab, which was lower than the finished floor level. The concrete slab needed to be rectified before Nene could commence the racking installation.

The Solution

Quickly liaising with the construction company project manager and Travis Perkins’ group project manager, the only solution was to commit more manpower on site and to work a weekend shift to complete the racking installation. It was imperative to have this completed before the post-installation racking inspection and scheduled practical completion hand-over date.

The Finished Outcome

For various reasons the racking installation was put back 3 times, however the practical completion date was not moved and was to be handed over to the business as original date.
