Travis Perkins Loughborough

The Challenge

One of the branches of well-known UK builders’ merchant, Travis Perkins, approached us with a view to helping them store huge amounts of timber using a suitable racking solution. A lack of storage meant that timber was often stored on the floor, slowing down operations considerably, sometimes even bringing things to a complete halt, meaning customers had to wait longer for their orders.

The Solution

We suggested a comprehensive cantilever system to enable the storage of timber horizontally in the air. This was not only the most economical option but also provided the branch with lower ongoing maintenance costs. As the system supplied is bolted (as opposed to welded) it allows for repair work to be carried out quickly and you only ever have to replace the specific damaged element of the rack.

The Finished Outcome

On receiving the plans from the client, we carried out a full site survey to ensure the plan put together on paper would work in reality. We then compiled a plan of works on site to suit the client’s needs and installed the solution as per the plans. In total, from point of order, the entire solution was delivered and installed within six weeks.

Not only did we find an efficient and cost-effective solution for our client, one that is easy to maintain going forward, but we completed the project quickly and efficiently, adding real value to the client in super-quick time.
