IKEA – Peterborough

The Challenge

IKEA’s Peterborough distribution centre needed an urgent dismantle and rebuild of three back-to-back racking aisles to make space for a new small items conveyor belt system. The job included 88 double deep bays standing at 9 metres high, all with steel profile decking. With peak season approaching, the client required the full works to be completed in just three weeks without disrupting daily operations or compromising safety.

The Solution

Nene developed a highly detailed programme of works to dismantle, reconfigure, and reinstall the racking onto existing aisles, ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations. The project was delivered by Nene’s experienced team within just 12 days, well ahead of the three-week deadline. This gave IKEA additional time to stock and prepare the new small items process ahead of the Christmas period, with zero disruption to warehouse productivity throughout the installation.
