Pro Tiler Tools/Topps Tiles – Northampton
The Challenge
Pro Tiler Tools/Topps Tiles, operating from a 140,000 sq ft distribution centre in Pineham, Northampton, needed to scale up its warehousing operations to support growing demand across the UK. Their existing setup could no longer support the expanding inventory or meet the operational pace required for their national distribution. The client required a high-capacity, flexible racking system that could be installed with minimal disruption, while also implementing robust safety measures to support a high-volume, fast-moving warehouse environment.
The Solution
Nene Warehouse Solutions designed and delivered a bespoke Adjustable Pallet Racking system built to 12,000mm high, maximising vertical capacity and accommodating a wide range of SKU profiles. The solution included multiple bay configurations, wire mesh decking, and integrated mesh cages to improve stock handling and visibility. To ensure operational safety, we installed Rack Deflektors, steel end-of-rack barriers, and comprehensive barrier systems throughout the site. The phased installation plan allowed warehouse operations to continue with minimal disruption, and the design was adjusted in real-time to meet evolving client needs. Despite minor setbacks during phase two, the project was completed ahead of the final deadline, ensuring the site was fully operational before stock transfer. This installation has increased capacity, enhanced safety, and improved overall warehouse flow, positioning the business for long-term success.
