The Challenge
IKEA Bristol required a complete reconfiguration of their racking layout to improve the efficiency of their in-store fulfilment space. The challenge was to replace the entire racking system within an active retail environment, ensuring that no trading hours were lost and operations could continue as normal throughout the project.
The Solution
Nene Warehouse Solutions developed a phased installation plan that allowed the project to be completed safely and efficiently overnight. Working in close coordination with IKEA, the project team and installation crew operated on night shifts, cordoning off sections of the store to dismantle and rebuild racking. Up to four runs were completed each evening in line with the new layout. Over an eight-week period, the entire system was replaced without any disruption to daily trading. This approach maximised operational continuity and delivered a fully optimised retail storage solution.
