Case Study

Ceva Logistics

The Challenge

Nene was approached by CEVA Logistics with a new exciting warehouse concept. The client wanted to create additional warehousing and commercial space, developing an existing location as they didn’t want to relocate.

Nene owned a parcel of land that was situated behind the client’s existing building and so it made perfect sense to extend operations using this new space. Nene was given a tight timeframe of ten months to develop the new building, which would enable the client to fulfil its growth plans.

Our Solution

Once the commercial elements and planning permission had been accepted, Nene began work clearing and levelling the site. The ground was then rolled and tested, and the footing for the building was put into place.

As the weeks went by, the building developed at a fast pace. The steel frame was assembled over a ten week period followed by the cladding. The building was made watertight over the following weeks, meaning the concrete slabs could be safely laid.
Leaving the concrete floor to cure, Nene’s in-house team geared up for the installation of 15,000 ft² mezzanine floor including a full fit-out of offices, toilets, a canteen, clean rooms and a state-of-the-art training centre. The warehouse was fitted with modern LED lighting to suit the layout of the racking that was to be installed, as well as the installation of pallet racking throughout the entire warehouse.

The Finished Outcome

The project had a scheduled finish time of just ten months from the start date, but Nene’s team managed to deliver the full specification of building requirements an incredible six weeks early. Furthermore, the project was delivered within the client’s assigned budget while being built to the highest construction standards.

Nene’s project management team helps manage the site for the client on an ongoing basis, including regular safely inspections and a warehouse optimisation service.
